What is the benefit of intensive trauma therapy VS weekly sessions.
EMDR therapy is designed to help the client heal from the trauma that they have experienced with the help of using the different techniques and resources. The weekly way of doing therapy requires 50-60 mins of sessions each week where the client have to build skills and internal and external resources to help the readiness for therapy, much like getting an athlete ready for a marathon. It requires a lot of dedication and commitment of time and conscious effort. Where as Intensive trauma therapy is a fast and effective way of getting the same therapy within a short period of time, it afford working within an intensive format to get the same result by working one on one in an office setting or online to heal all the salient traumas within a few setting in one week. sometimes it takes one week of intensive work to target all the trauma and to move past them instead of going to therapy for a long period of time to get the healing done.
